Ancelotti, contracted with Brazil until 2030
The CBF renews the Italian coach’s contract for four more years and entrusts him with the mission of bringing the Canarinha back to the top of the world.
No challenge is too great for Carlo Ancelotti. The man who has won everything on the touchlines of Europe now faces the most exciting challenge of his long career: leading Brazil to a sixth World Cup title. And he will do so with time, with backing, and with the unwavering confidence of a federation that on Thursday made official the renewal of his contract through the 2030 World Cup.
The CBF has extended Carletto’s contract by four more years, in a decision that comes just four days before the coach presents his squad list for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. An announcement that only confirms what was already becoming clear: that this project extends far beyond 2026.
One year, ten matches, a path laid out
Ancelotti arrived in Brazil in May 2025 as the first foreign coach to permanently lead the Canarinha since 1965. In twelve months he has managed ten matches — five wins, two draws and three defeats — and has restored the stability and excitement the national team so badly needed. The numbers speak for themselves, but above all, so does the atmosphere: the squad believes in him, and so does the fanbase.
The coach himself wanted to share his emotion in a message recorded for the CBF: “I arrived in Brazil a year ago. From the very first minute, I understood what football means to this country. For a year we have worked to bring the Brazilian national team back to the top of the world. But the CBF and I want more. More wins, more time, more work. We go together until the 2030 World Cup.”
Now, the World Cup
The renewal comes at the best possible moment. Brazil opens their campaign on June 13 against Morocco at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, placed in Group C alongside Scotland and Haiti. The perfect stage for Carletto to show the world that the five-time European champion is the right man to lead the five-time World Champion back to the throne.
