Ancelotti leads a very special session on “Peace and Friendship” in Jerusalem
Carlo Ancelotti was reunited on Monday with the most friendly and supportive face of football. In an afternoon to remember, the Italian coach returned to enjoy conducting a very special training session in Jerusalem. In the Armenian neighborhood of the Old City, Ancelotti trained a group of children representing the melting pot that the Holy City lodges in its walls. On the lawn of the recently opened ‘Peace and Friendship’ recreational space, Christian children, Muslims and Jews enjoyed the direction and knowledge of Carlo Ancelotti, who has been one of the many athletes who has contributed to realise a project which stands for peaceful coexistence among all cultures and wants to banish intolerance and disrespect.
The project ‘Peace and Friendship’ has been carried out by Caritas Jerusalem, in collaboration with the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate and the Italian agency “Assistance for Peace” and has the support of personalities of the stature of Carlo Ancelotti but also of illustrious ones like Novak Djokovic, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Vincenzo Nibali, Giovanni Soldini, Javier Zanetti, GianluigiBuffon, Federico Pellegrini, Yakhouba Diawara, Roberto Donadoni, Danilo Gallinari, Valentino Rossi, Muhammad Ali, Luca Toni, Simone Pianigiani or Antonello Venditti, Guido Barilla and Ennio Morricone.
Carlo Ancelotti only has words of thanks for those who have invited him to be part of a project so beautiful and with such an important background: “Respect and values should be the essence of the coexistence of all. No matter the culture, religion or race, we are all the same and football can be the best vehicle to vertebrate the coexistence between all. Children are the future and they understand these values. We really enjoyed it today. “
