“Our aim is to win but it musn’t be an obsession”

Carlo Ancelotti is certain that Napoli’s aim is to get as high as possible in rankings and competitions but by being competitive and avoiding obsessions.

Napoli’s pre-season stage is on its last phase in Dimaro where, on the night of the 25th of July, the whole squad and Carlo Ancelotti made their official presentation in the little alpine town. A party that had as a starter a conference from Ancelotti in which he talked about how Napoli had done until now and how should they confront the upcoming season.

“We are very happy with the work of these last weeks. We have incorporated strong and tough training sessions in order to get in shape for the season. We have also taken advantage of the friendlies to test some things and get to our best shape. The team has worked alright”, said Carlo Ancelotti.

The coach also talked about Napoli’s expectations for this new season: “This team will always aspire to the maximum. It is our idea as a club and it is a challenge to return all the support given to our unconditional fans”. Nevertheless, Ancelotti sent a message so that everybody knows the difference between ambition and obsession: Our aim is to win but it musn’t be an obsession because these kind of things don’t bring good things. Motivation does bring good things and gives us energy”. The message was received.
