Ancelotti receives the Corrado Viciani award and pays tribute to Davide Astori

The coach stood out among the Great Sport Gala crowd at Castiglion Florentino and praised Fiorentina’s captain, Davide Astori, who he met at AC MIlan.

Italy keeps on praising the succesful career of Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach received the Corrado Viciani at the Great Gala of Sport at Castiglion Florentino on Thursday 8 of March. Ancelotti, who is currently on an ‘in pass’ in his career, was distinguished for his values, which he represents on the world of football and on his track record.
A trajectory in which as Ancelotti remembered, Corrado Viciani had a lot to do: “He was a great football figure. A reference of everything in football since I began and a forefather of the first touch football that is so fashionable nowadays”, said the Italian coach that didn’t hide his satisfaction for receiving this award. “It’s an honour to receive this prize. I want to thank Castiglion Florentino and all its people”.
Ancelotti, who made a quick summary of current football, didn’d want to miss the chance of honoring the memory of Davide Astori, who just passed away and has saddened the world of football: “I feel a profound sadness and my thoughts are with his family and his daughter, it’s been a irreparable loss”. Carlo knew Davide in person: “He was a child when I coached AC Milan, but he always stood out for his serenity and professionality in everything he did when young. It’s a great loss, without a doubt”.
