Ancelotti has a “special” return to Madrid but a “very complicated” match against Atletico

Football feeds on feelings and Carlo Ancelotti can not suppress his own every time he returns to Madrid: “It’s always special to come back here.” His successful years at the helm of Real Madrid and the affection with which the Spanish fans have always treated him, means much to the now Bayern coach who, this Wednesday (20.45 CET), will face with Atletico Madrid in a pitch where the Italian coach does not feel so comfortable: “it is not so cheerful to come back to Calderon, playing here is always difficult”.

Ancelotti knows what he’s talking about, although against Atletico Madrid lifted the last Champions in his list of winners. Carlo encounters with his colleague Simeone could not be more tight: five wins for Ancelotti, four draws and the same number of wins for the Argentinian. Bayern´s coach knows the answer to so much trouble, “Atletico style is very clear and has great players. They have made very good games, it will be difficult”. To close the ´compliment circle´ Ancelotti had a few words for his counterpart: “Simeone is a very good coach, one of the best in football right now. I like his style. He fatigues more now than when he played”.

However, Bayern will try on Wednesday hopes to take a step ahead at the Calderon and secure the top place in the group where they led after the thrashing Rostov in the first match of the group stage. A game in which Ancelotti expects his players to pay “maximum attention” and “solidarity” to keep feeding the great streak that keeps them unbeaten since the start of the season.
